4 Oct 2007 - Trossachs SAR assist with coastline search in the Grampian area
Two dog teams from Trossachs SAR assisted Aberdeen Coastguard with a search of inhospitable coastline for a missing fisherman whose boat was discovered smashed against the shore at Portlethen, south of Aberdeen.
Search dogs Gigha and Glen, along with Joanne, Iain and Craig departed MOD Forthside, Stirling at 0530hrs on 04.10.07 to attend at Portlethen for 0800hrs for a search of coastilne north and south of the search for a missing fisherman. Unfortunately, the search proved negative.
A further dog team fromCaithness and Sutherland Search Team plus operational from Trossachs SAR were on standby to assist the next day, if required.
